Not Just Cooking meets Sefton Cooks

“Sefton Cooks are school based cooking clubs, delivered by school staff to children and parents in a bid to improve eating habits and give families healthy cooking and eating ideas.

Although we do our own in house training for staff, we felt we needed to move the level up and re-engage the Sefton Cooks representatives in schools. We invited Gavin and his apprentice along to deliver the practical element of a reinvigoration training day and that’s just what they did – reinvigorated!

With his natural rapport and sense of fun, Gavin quickly got all 20 attendees interested and involved.

In a very interactive way, the healthy eating (with a dose of common sense) message was shared with all as well as practical ideas and tips for running sessions.

The evaluations from staff were brilliant and most credited Gavin with giving them new ideas and a new sense of purpose in terms of passing along the healthy eating message to their own clubs. We will definitely invite Gavin back to share his wisdom and positive attitude to Sefton Cooks’ staff.”
